One of the most rewarding projects I took on recently was updating this hallway with classic beadboard wainscoting. My goal was to add textures, pop of bold color and that timeless character to an otherwise plain space—without overwhelming it. I couldn’t be happier with the result.
Here is my Before :

I really wouldn’t consider this space a “hallway” but more of a small transitional space that leads you to the bedrooms . Again, I have a small but mighty home , so every inch of this home serves a purpose .

So let’s get into the weeds ! I had a vision , and like all visions I drew it out. I wanted this space to be welcoming and by that I wanted to incorporate family photos and sentiments . This space also had to be functional as well , which is I why I incorporated hooks . Hooks will be great for hanging kids backpacks or clothes for the next day , even dog leashes .

For the Beadboard Wainscoting I utilized these panels made of flexible PVC that I found at my local Home Depot. I was easily able to cut and snap the pieces using a blade, additionally lots of Liquid Nails Glue was used for this project .
TRIM
Once the panels were up I moved onto installing the trim. Nothing fancy here, just simple pieces I found at Home Depot .
The board trim is what I used for the hook installation and the fancy one was just to add a minimal touch of charm all around .
Used my Miter Saw box to get the measurements for the trim .

HARDWARE
I went with a very sleek looking hook and something that felt sturdy. Found these at Home Depot , by now I live there.

PAINT
Love me a shade of moody green ! I went with the color on the bottom – color is Carriage Hill by Clark + Kensington in a semi gloss finish . It gives off a deep blue in all the right ways but is part of the green color family . Note that I did prime my panels and trim first by using a dark gray primer . This helps achieve the color at its best !
Aside the panel and paint trim I also wanted to paint the existing walls and ceilings . For that I went with Harvest Brown by BEHR

Making progress here and onto the walls and ceilings we go !

WALL FIXTURES
Hooks – found these at Home Depot , I absolutely love the look and feel of these !

Floating Shelves – they are faux oak , so it’s a coated MDF, but my overall opinion is that they have a sturdy feel and smooth look overall .

Cordless Wall Sconce – Now these babies just gave this space the moody vibe I never knew it needed 😃
For the price they definetly feel expensive and look like luxury wall sconces . The best part, they are CORDLESS , you can remove them to charge them and the charge life is long lasting . It comes with a remote to adjust dimmer to set the mood ✨
