✨There’s nothing more magical than gathering with friends under the fall sun for a little witchy crafting! For this DIY Witch Broom Party, I set up a simple outdoor table and covered it with a plastic bat-print table-cover, and filled it with natural elements — twigs, dried lavender, moss, eucalyptus, and a mix of bright faux florals. As for the sticks – those are big branches I cut down from my trees.
Everyone got to build their own broom using rustic wooden sticks, twine, and florals of their choice. I added satin ribbons and little bats for a whimsical touch. The result? The prettiest fall brooms that feel part Halloween, part cottage-core charm.
One of the most rewarding projects I took on recently was updating this hallway with classic beadboard wainscoting. My goal was to add textures, pop of bold color and that timeless character to an otherwise plain space—without overwhelming it. I couldn’t be happier with the result.
I really wouldn’t consider this space a “hallway” but more of a small transitional space that leads you to the bedrooms . Again, I have a small but mighty home , so every inch of this home serves a purpose .
So let’s get into the weeds ! I had a vision , and like all visions I drew it out. I wanted this space to be welcoming and by that I wanted to incorporate family photos and sentiments . This space also had to be functional as well , which is I why I incorporated hooks . Hooks will be great for hanging kids backpacks or clothes for the next day , even dog leashes .
For the Beadboard Wainscoting I utilized these panels made of flexible PVC that I found at my local Home Depot. I was easily able to cut and snap the pieces using a blade, additionally lots of Liquid Nails Glue was used for this project .
TRIM
Once the panels were up I moved onto installing the trim. Nothing fancy here, just simple pieces I found at Home Depot .
The board trim is what I used for the hook installation and the fancy one was just to add a minimal touch of charm all around .
Used my Miter Saw box to get the measurements for the trim .
HARDWARE
I went with a very sleek looking hook and something that felt sturdy. Found these at Home Depot , by now I live there.
PAINT
Love me a shade of moody green ! I went with the color on the bottom – color is Carriage Hill by Clark + Kensington in a semi gloss finish . It gives off a deep blue in all the right ways but is part of the green color family . Note that I did prime my panels and trim first by using a dark gray primer . This helps achieve the color at its best !
Aside the panel and paint trim I also wanted to paint the existing walls and ceilings . For that I went with Harvest Brown by BEHR
Making progress here and onto the walls and ceilings we go !
WALL FIXTURES
Hooks – found these at Home Depot , I absolutely love the look and feel of these !
Floating Shelves– they are faux oak , so it’s a coated MDF, but my overall opinion is that they have a sturdy feel and smooth look overall .
Cordless Wall Sconce – Now these babies just gave this space the moody vibe I never knew it needed 😃
For the price they definetly feel expensive and look like luxury wall sconces . The best part, they are CORDLESS , you can remove them to charge them and the charge life is long lasting . It comes with a remote to adjust dimmer to set the mood ✨

The key to making textures work together is layering pieces that complement rather than compete. Think opposites: structured with soft, smooth with nubby, matte with sheen. When done right, your bed becomes not just a place to sleep—but a sensory experience. My kids would agree 😋
Waffle-knit blanket —the ultimate texture contrast. Light, airy, and effortlessly relaxed, it’s the perfect companion for year-round comfort. I love how it breaks up the formality of velvet and adds a casual charm.
Quilted Velvet Cover — offering both visual richness and soft structure. Its gentle sheen and stitched detailing instantly elevate the look, while staying breathable and practical for daily use. This cover also comes with a set of pillowcases .
Linen throw pillow — In a sea of textures—like boucle, velvet, or chunky knits—linen acts as a grounding element. This beige linen pillow, for example, offers a crisp contrast against the deep black teddy-textured pillows , and the warm rust tones around it.
Patdrea Designer pillow cases — Who doesn’t love fun prints to add a whimsical touch !? Love these pillow case packs .

I love being able to create something that incorporates blending in the old with the new.
This little nook in our home is more than just a shelf; it’s a curated collection of secondhand beauty, modern finds, sentimental heirlooms, and the warm spirit of family recipes. So yes, just a shelf with soul .
✨ A Gentle Reminder
You don’t need a massive budget to create a space that feels meaningful. Sometimes the most beautiful corners are built slowly—with patience, and the occasional lucky find. Each shelf in your home can become a little altar to comfort, family, and creativity.
This year has brought tough news—my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer. It shook us, but in true family fashion, we decided to face it with love, laughter, and celebration.
The family threw him a Dodgers-themed birthday party recently , complete with blue and white decorations, his favorite team gear, and the sounds of his favorite Tamborazo tunes he’s always loved. Seeing him smile, surrounded by the people who love him, reminded us all that even in uncertain times, joy still finds a way in.
DIY Game Day Concession Stand – A Home Run Idea!
There’s nothing quite like combining creativity, sports spirit, and a love for snacks to bring something fun to life — and that’s exactly what I did with this DIY concession stand! A little bit of nostalgia – I put together a fun, eye-catching setup that brings the ballpark right to the party.
Welcome to Juan’s Concession Stand!
My goal was to create a functional, and festive snack station for friends and family — perfect for a Dodgers game watch party or any baseball-themed gathering. I incorporated Hydrangeas and Carnations for that natural touch and used a metal shelf transformed into a mini concession stand, complete with signage, treats, and a whole lot of character.
The Details That Hit it Out of the Park:
• Snack Attack: The shelves feature bags of peanuts, Baby Ruth chocolate bars, Cracker Jack popcorn and Sunflower seeds ! These snacks definitely gave it a ballpark feel.
• Vintage Vibes: This red Coca-Cola ice chest belonged to my husband’s grandpa and I repurposed it by using it as a planter. I filled with beautiful blue hydrangeas and white carnations and complimented it with Mini Coca-Cola glass bottles – such a nostalgic incorporation .

When it comes to small changes that make a big impact, these custom DIY closet doors prove how powerful thoughtful design can be. I recently upgraded a plain closet with a bold yet natural look—and the transformation instantly elevated the room. This is my version of “imperfectly perfect” and I love it !!
Why Change the Doors?
The original closet doors were functional but uninspiring. I wanted something that would bring character into the space of our bedroom while complementing the mix of traditional and modern elements in the room. Rather than replace the entire structure, I decided to customize the doors myself.
The Materials I Used
• Paint: An espresso bean black shade for the frames- making this both modern and dramatic. I actually used a Matte finish and not eggshell.
• Panels: I used a roll of leftover, burlap then I placed the wood panels over it . This adds warmth and texture, softening the bold lines of the brown paint.
• Hardware: Sleek bronze handles for a touch of elegance and continuity with nearby furniture. The look of my bedroom is moody but also very soft feels.
1. Prep the Doors: I gave them a light sanding to smooth the surface and removed the old wood knobs. It’s all in the details and the prep work !
2. Paint the Frame: Using painter’s tape, I masked off the surrounding area and painted the doors. Then I primed and painted the wood panels/trim.
3. Add the Fabric Panels: After the paint dried, I cut and attached the burlap to the frame using a staple gun, making sure it was taut and evenly placed.
4. Install Hardware: I selected long, vertical pulls that added both function and visual height. Very sleek and sturdy too !
The Result
The finished doors strike a perfect balance between modern minimalism and earthy warmth. The contrast between the dark frame and light burlap panels gives the room depth, while the texture brings in a cozy, organic feel. Best of all? It’s completely one-of-a-kind.
Would I Do It Again?
Absolutely. This project is proof that with a little creativity and a few supplies, you can completely transform your space. Whether you’re working with a tight budget or just want a weekend DIY, custom closet doors are a satisfying upgrade.

I created this beautiful gift board by combining natural elements and thoughtful touches to make something truly special. Started with a wooden cutting board as the base, I added a hand towel with a cheerful print, a bottle of olive oil and a rustic wooden spoon. To bring in organic charm, I tucked in sprigs of fresh rosemary and lavender, which not only look lovely but add a fragrant touch. Everything is tied together with a large burlap bow, giving it a warm, handmade feel – perfect for any occasion.
Now I know I’m not the first in the DIY world to come up with a gallery wall.
However this is my personal rendition of a kitchen gallery wall that adds both charm and functionality. The mix of textures—wooden cutting boards, delicate dried flowers, and sentimental recipe frames
(my husbands grandmother) create a cozy and personal atmosphere in my kitchen. The best part is that this kitchen was his grandmothers for many years.
Details
The S hooks are super versatile and used to hang the cutting boards , glass flower holders and frames .
Glass frames with adjustable chain just added such a pretty detail when it came to incorporating these passed down recipes cards. These are so versatile – you can easily add pressed flowers or even a picture.
Flower / propagation vases used to hold the dried flowers . From time to time I will add fresh herbs or even green onions . It’s pretty cool when you see the roots taking off in water .
Kitchen towel – you can use any of your liking when it comes to kitchen towels (check out your local Home Goods, TjMaxx or even Target). I change mine out with the seasons/ holidays so there is always something “new” hanging here.
Curtain rod – I used the one below as I was looking for something that was on the thinner side versus your typical curtain rod.
I did a revamp of the kids bedroom and made sure that the room remained neutral since they do share a bedroom currently .
We started with colors from Home Depot and surprisingly they choose great colors that meshed well .
Kids bedroom before was not aesthetically pleasing but also my son had a growing Lego obsession that was piling up on floating shelves – by the time I took this picture the legos were all taken down – but as you can see , not so safe for a 6 year old taking legos off and on these shelves .
My daughter’s side was also just a wall of randomness and things we held onto since she was born .
Needless to say their room needed a revamp
The vision for my son’s side and it slowly coming to life.
Nice oak wood tiered shelving station for his legos. This was a big win for him and us . This meant no more legos on floating wall shelves !
I think my favorite part of my son’s wall are these acrylic floating magazine holders – we repurposed them for all his favorite hotwheels and we got a wall mount for his Lamborghini.
As for my daughter’s side – we kept it simple and did get her some wall art as well as incorporating a couple of items we had since she was born .
The prints are from Etsy – I purchased the image then printed them out at my local Office Depot .
Finishing touches was this super cool neon light – we have “come as you are” throughout our home . Nirvana fans ❤ and ultimately come as you are . In addition, a super cute runner from Ruggable ! The best part about these carpets/runners is that they are washable & that is a big win with littles.
